ABOUT THE CLASS: Learn more about the aromatic and topical applications of essential oils to maintain a pain-free body.  Come learn how therapeutic-quality oils and French methods of application have brought this ancient health practice to a whole new level of popularity.  Participants will come away feeling capable in their understanding of the safe and effective use of essential oils to help manage everyday aches and pains. Course content is substantiated by current, peer-reviewed research. 

Syllabus:

  1. a) Introduction to modern aromatherapy: How is it different? What is new research teaching us? 
  2. b) Safety guidelines, recommended concentrations, and contraindications for essential oil use for aches and pains. 
  3. c) Aromatic, topical, and internal uses for essential oils. 
  4. d) An introduction to five essential oils that may be used effectively for everyday aches and pains.

 

Stephanie Pearson

ABOUT THE PRESENTER: Stephanie Pearson has a unique distinction in her field for integrating traditional practices in nutrition and herbalism with principles of evidence-based research and constitutional medicine.  She is a certified clinical herbalist, functional nutritionist, clinical aromatherapist master in process, and a professional educator and presenter at universities, and for wellness conferences and webinars.  Her 25 years of botanical medicine study expands outside the classroom and cross-culturally, enriched by field studies in Native American, Western Eclectic, and Latin American herbalism.

She is a published writer and blogger and has served as an appointed board member for the Multnomah Food Policy Council.  Her memberships include the American Herbalists GuildSlow Food PortlandCommunity Inspired Professionals, and the Gluten-free Society.
