Students will gain a brief overview of the field and begin to see:
  • The function of the Brain and Recent Consciousness and Altered State Research
  • The Phenomenology of Mysticism and the Brain
  • Substances, Entheogens and Recent Discoveries, as well as their impact on healing modalities and practice

rabbi-jonathanABOUT THE PRESENTER: Rabbi Jonathan Seidel, PhD was born and raised in New Jersey and attended Oberlin College, the Jewish Theological Seminary, was a Hayes Fulbright scholar at Cambridge University, and finished his studies at UC Berkeley where he earned a doctorate in Judaic and Near Eastern Studies (1996). He has taught Religion and Judaic Studies at UC Davis, UC Santa Cruz, and UC Berkeley, as well as Stanford, the University of Arizona, ASU, Portland State University, Oregon State University, and the University of Oregon. He is currently teaching at Lane Community College and is the Spiritual Leader of Or haGan Synagogue in Eugene.
